SDN(Software Defined Networks)

Software Defined Networking is a technological breakthrough in networking architecture which focuses on making networks more programmable, manageable, cost-effective, adaptive  and easier to configure making it deal with the high-bandwidth and dynamic requirements of today's application . It does this by differentiating the Control plane and the Data plane of any network and then centralizing the control plane using a SDN controller(software), so that any policy change or configuration done can be easily applied on the forwarding devices(routers or switches) within the distributed data plane . To understand it better , lets focus on the traditional networking environments where control and data planes are defined at the same level on the network devices like routers or switches . As a result , no point in the networks holds the global view of the network .These devices holds the policy configuration and also the logic for forwarding data within the network as per...
